Reconciliation WA (RWA) have launched Kolbang Yanginy, WA’s first online local government reconciliation resource to empower local governments in fostering meaningful connections with Aboriginal communities.
In collaboration with key partners — including the Department of Premier and Cabinet, the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, the Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries, and the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) — this online platform showcases best practice in reconciliation and Aboriginal engagement across local governments in WA.
From the early stages of development, it was clear that Kolbang Yanginy needed strong creative appeal, so RWA invited submissions from local Aboriginal artists to help bring the project to life.
From the many submissions received, mother-daughter duo – Robyn Jean and Emily Rose who represent Noongar and Yamatji heritage, were selected as the artists.
