Reconciliation is an ongoing journey to an equitable society based on understanding, healing, and respect between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. Reconciliation is about acknowledging our shared history, truth-telling and working towards a future that is built on respect and collaboration.

Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) and reconciliation strategies provide frameworks and actionable steps to champion reconciliation. Incorporating reconciliation action and intent across Local Government policies, programs and services provides powerful local level outcomes that benefit the whole community.

The interactive mapping feature allows users to explore their Local Government area—whether town, city, or region—while also acknowledging Aboriginal Native Title settlements, Indigenous land and sea agreements, Traditional Landowners, and language groups. By highlighting First Nations territories, the map provides an opportunity to learn about the land on which you live, work, and play. It also guides users in connecting with Elders and Traditional Landowners, fostering deeper engagement and supporting reconciliation efforts through meaningful learning and partnerships.
